The members of Four Females With A Vision began singing together in 1999. They all met at Delany High School singing in the gospel choir. All four of the young ladies had a vision of singing in a group. They all kind of just migrated together in the gospel choir at school. Kim Forrest's church was having a musical. She asked Tara Parks, Vivian Church, and Sara Young if they would like to sing with her. They received a lot of praise. The girls sang at area musicals for the next few months. They did not have a name for the group yet. When they were introduced, they were introduced as Kim, Sara, Vivian, and Tara. Tara's mother told the group, "You all need to get a name for this group if you all are going to keep singing." They came up with the name Four Females with a Vision. Tara's mother liked the name. Four Females with a Vision sang at area musicals, talent shows, and engagements in the city and surrounding areas. Tara's mother, Shelley Parks, acted as the group's manager. She was very strict with the girls. She insisted that they rehearse two hours a day, that they receive good grades in school, and that they each attended church on a regular basis. The girls also participated in a group Bible study in which each girl had to be responsible for a lesson. At one point, Vivian wanted to quit the group because she felt that Mrs. Parks was being too hard on them. Mrs. Parks told Vivian that she was welcomed to leave the group, but she could not return to the group again. Vivian was angry, but she remained in the group. Mrs. Parks was introduced to a talent scout from Mo'Sound Gospel by Jamie Nelson, a member of the church she attended. Four Females with a Vision signed with Mo'Sound Gospel in 2000. The group's first CDD was released on March 26, 2001. It was entitled, "When Four Females Have a Vision." The CD included such song writers and producers as D.M. Adkins, Power Franklin, and RC Cooper. The girls continue on doing a work for the Lord. In addition to singing, the girls also do classes, seminars, and sessions promoting good moral qualities, Christian living, and personal hygiene. They are good examples to other young ladies and girls. They also hold offices at their local churches and in the community. Kim Forrest serves as the assistant director of the Youth Ministry of the Maddocha Gospel Music Coalition. All of the young ladies are member of the Absanie Community Choir. |
